Guernsey Eisteddfod - Speech & Drama Festival

The annual Guernsey Eisteddfod Speech & Drama Festival is underway at Beau Sejour, celebrating the island’s performing arts talent.
Throughout exhibition week you can watch local performers take to the stage in a variety of speech, drama and performance categories.

It’s a great opportunity to support local talent and experience one of the island’s long-standing cultural traditions.

A brand new Open Mic Night launches at The Golden Lion this Monday, welcoming anyone who wants to perform or simply enjoy an evening of live local talent.
Whether you sing, play an instrument, perform poetry or just want to watch, the event is open to everyone and promises a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
If you’ve been looking for a chance to perform or enjoy some grassroots live music, this could be a great way to start the week.

Castel Church Farmers Market

Support local producers and the wider community at the Castel Church Farmers Market, held every other Saturday at the entrance to Friquet Garden Centre.
You’ll find a variety of stalls selling fresh local vegetables, meat and fish, baked goods, breads, cakes, Senners rolls and sausage rolls, making it a great place to stock up on quality local produce.
Both cash and card are accepted, and all proceeds help support the Castel Church and community activities.

Talking Cafés - A Friendly Chat & Cuppa

Talking Cafés are a simple but lovely initiative bringing people together for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee. Whether you stay for a full conversation or just pop in briefly, even a short chat with someone new can brighten your day.
There’s no need to book and no pressure to buy anything more than a drink from the café. Friendly volunteers are also available if you’d like to learn about other community activities or support services on the island.

Sport & Activity
Chouet 5K - Chertsey House Dental Road Series
📍 Pembroke Bay
📅 Sunday 15 March, 10:00 AM
The Chouet 5K is part of the Chertsey House Dental Road Series organised by Guernsey Athletics, bringing local runners together for a competitive but friendly road race.
The event starts at Pembroke Bay and follows a two-lap course with a few short hills along the way. The race begins at 10:00 AM, with a short briefing at 9:55 AM.
The race is open to runners aged 15 and over, with online entry available through the Guernsey Athletics website.

Guernsey Parkrun - Free Weekly 5km
📍 Pembroke Bay
📅 Every Saturday, 9:00 AM
The Guernsey Parkrun is a free weekly 5km run or walk held every Saturday morning at Pembroke Bay. Open to all abilities, it’s a friendly community event where runners, joggers and walkers can take part at their own pace.
The scenic two-lap route follows coastal paths around the headland, making it a great way to start the weekend with some fresh air and exercise.
First-timers are encouraged to arrive around 8:45 AM for a short briefing before the run begins.
Afterwards, many participants head for a post-run coffee at The Beach House.
